A Modern Fairytale In The City – Editorial

This wonderful editorial was shot with Hitched Uk in mind and we were thrilled when Hitched were delighted to feature our editorial and the STUNNING venue that is Severndroog Castle.

My real life couple the wonderful Iesha and Tom are marrying here at Severndroog Castle this summer. Iesha is a fashion designer and stylist (you can see her amazing work @thegirlwiththewavyhair

Severndroog castle (actually a folly) had its first stone laid in 1784. It was designed by architect Richard Jupp. This castle/folly honestly has to be seen in person so you can feel the grandeur of the folly and the serenity of the woodland setting. It is VERY romantic and VERY unique. If your looking for a truly unique day this venue is the one to go for.

Severndroog castle is a gothic-style tower, built in 1784 by Lady James. The castle was built as an expression of love to commemorate the achievements of Lady James’ late husband, Sir William James. With this romantic gesture as the foundation of the castle what better place to tie the knot. You don’t have to build a tower to celebrate your love but you can hire this romantic castle for your special day. A special committee of locals have ensured that this precious piece of history is kept for the local community and for your special day. Mary Bright was kind enough to show me around this amazing venue.

The castle is situated on the summit of Shooters Hill and is surrounded by an enchanted woodland which provides a perfect backdrop for ceremonies and photos. Severndroog is the perfect venue for intimate ceremonies in a unique setting.

Our editorial wanted to show a modern day city couple enjoying the historical venue, showing that modern city chic couples can indeed have the dream woodland fairytale wedding right here in the middle of London. Also an intimate wedding, perhaps a micro wedding, why not for go the town hall and have your small gathering here?

The flowers were created by www.weddingflowercompany.co.uk Catherine Ewing (who has created flowers for Bridgerton !!) We wanted to make a petite and chic slightly whimsical bouquet. Catherine delivered the perfect bouquet for this brief we all loved it.

The STUNNING cake was designed and made by Keeley at www.choccolotties.com and gorgeous petite cupcakes. Keeley designed a cake fit for a fairytale castle that was also chic and understated quite the tricky brief ! But she pulled this off fantastically.

The brides sequin suit featured was by the company Mint Velvet.

Watch out on Hitched Uk soon for this lovely story thank you team
